think you have that wrong pal
1. Froch (and Johnson) stand to make a whole lot more from gate receipts if it was in Nottingham - apparently they aren't even fighting in the main hall at the Boardwalk, where as you'd get a good 12000 approx crowd in the Nottingham Arena (think it's called the Capital FM arena now)
2. It may be Froch voicing this but I reckon his promoter has a part in it, but then again his promoter is a let down so maybe not
3. It's not a point of being scared, as Froch has shown he isn't scared to travel or fight in another mans back yard
It'll be a tough fight no doubt about it but what I don't get is the anomosity towards Froch for making a straight up offer and within a day or two denouncing the offer as the powers that be have said no... one of the most open bits of negotiating in modern boxing if you asked me, it could have all been done behind closed doors but theres nothing untoward going on so why not bring it to the public forum
Froch is how a true champion should act like. He is focused on building his legacy and therefore doesn't mind fighting away from home so many times. He is like the opposite of Joe Calzaghe.
What's your issue with Joe Calz waz? you always seem to have having a go at him. All he ever did was win and beat national heroes and so many hate him for it.
i like froch, the more he's around fighting and talking it up, the more i find things to like......... not to mention, i have yet to see a boring froch fight.
with that being said, i'm rooting 100% for the Road Warrior...........
this fight ought to be a slugfest, i can't see this fight being anything but awesome..... i think it's going to be a fight of the year type fight, i'm hoping at least.
either way, this is a fight fans fight, and a great style match up, both guys know how to ****.....
although, i do think johnson's defense is underrated and could be a bigger problem for froch than expected, also age is a factor, hopefully not, but with guys fighting at johnson's age, like hopkins, its always a factor....... the sad thing is, just like hopkins, judges don't score the nuances of johnson's defense and style of offense....... which is a shame because they really, in their own ways, epitomize boxing craft.........
For some reason I'm getting a feeling like Glen Johnson is going to beat Carl Froch. Even though all logic says it should be the other way around.
yeah, i have the same feeling.....
honestly, i think johnson got a surge of motivation watching hopkins pascal, it was the perfect motivational tool for a older fighter to get motivated to train his arse off to fight a young lion like froch.....
although johnson doesn't need anything to get him motivated, but i think that fight kicked him into gear by watching it.......... it has to get anyone over 40 fired up, that is still in the game.......
would be bizarre if we be left with AA and Johnson in the final..anti-climax big time
surprising yeah, and the anti-climax part would be that it wouldn't be a good old UK v US battle, it would be Jamaica v Armenia :S but it would still be a great tear-up in terms of the fight itself.
