Comments Thread For: Kell Brook Claims Free Agent Status, Exploring Options

Kell Brook was a telephone guest on Barkery Jammeh's Main Event radio show on Monday, and the Sheffield-based stylist used the interview to reveal that his contract with promoter Frank Warren has expired. Brook says he is ready to speak to Warren and other promoters about his next career move. Brook fought 3 times last year, with wins over Krzysztof Bienias, Michael Jennings and Philip Kotey respectively, yet is frustrated over a lack of 2011 action, pointing out that he has nothing in the pipeline at the moment.

Join Hayemaker Promotions. This guy is one of the most exciting prospects in Britain and Frank Warren didn't do sheeet all for him

That would be a terrible decision. Hayemaker do not have a great track record.

He should stick with Warren or go to the US and sign with someone like DiBella. GBP/Arum might be able to get him big fights but they also might prioritise others ahead of him. Realistically, GBP and Arum may also have little interest in signing him. DiBella will get him on HBO and probably match him against Berto or at least Quintana.

I wondered what had happened to Brook, hadn't heard from him in some time now. I hope he goes with either GBP or Top rank, he could land a lot of fights at welterweight if he went to Top rank. It's certainly better than waiting for yet more crappy lower level fighters to come his way (by courtesy of "old fish eyes").

This dude has UNBELIEVABLE POTENTIAL and I think he can be a SUPERSTAR, but he has to get on HBO or Showtime and gain more exposure

PLEASE DON'T SIGN WITH TOP RANK THOUGH! DiBella or Shaw would be better for him RIGHT NOW, both are great at building up young fighters, then Top Rank and GBP end up stealing them away but still I think DiBella and Shaw do a wonderful job getting young fighters exposure

Brook is the real deal, he should pack his things and move to the states right now. He's a promoter's dream, unbeaten, stylish, powerful he's got everything and he's hungry.

A move to a US-based stable would be great for Brook.

He'd benefit from the superior preparation out there, too, although I feel his collaboration with the Ingles also needs to be continued in his camps.
