Mosley and Manny were both available while Cotto was getting ready to fight Clottey. But Mosley was just coming off destroying Tony...and once Cotto ended up struggling with Clottey, the Manny-Cotto fight was made. Roach didn't want to put Manny anywhere near Shane at the time. This is common knowledge.

It didn't take Roach for a person with eyes to see that. Heck, Tony wasn't the same either. That was one of the more brutal fights in recent history. Its impossible for fighters to be the same after that kind of battle. I thought that was a good performance by Manny though, I just wish he would have fought the man at 147 and not the catchweight.
