  • Prime Superman Roy Jones vs The Hopkins that destroyed Tito...

    Who wins????

I believe Roy beat Hopkins because he was just on another level then that Hopkins. He was able to get started in the Olympics and got robbed of a gold medal. Is boxing IQ was WAAAYYYYYYYYY higher while Hopkins spent 10 years in jail. He lost his 1st pro fight for god sakes. He definitely got better with age.

So when Hopkins finally reached his best when he absolutely demolished a P4P ATG like Trinidad, how would he have faired if he would have went up to fight superman Roy Jones next???

Not saying he'd win but I think it'd be a totally different fight then their 1st encounter...

I've always believed Jones was simply the better fighter and a bad style for Hopkins to have to fight. I'd pick him at his best over any version of Hopkins you give me.

have to lean towards jones. . it wouldnt be a pretty fight, but jones would rack enough rounds to get a close but clear decision. would look a lot like the taylor fights but more decisive.

Roy's decline was never completely evident till Tarver 1. Any versionof Roy pre heavyweight is to much for Hop. Roy was a different beast. Hop would beat anyone else, just not Roy anytime before 2004

You have to consider that Hops gave a boxing clinic to Tito, whom had become enamored with his power and when faced with a superior fighter who would not yield he simply had no answers... The bigger, better man beat the good smaller man, not much more to say about that fight. I don't think Hops had what it takes to beat a prime or near prime Roy.

Jones was just too slick and fast for Hopkins who would have beat him to the punch n dance away before Hopkins could get off. I think there is a reason Bernard finally got in the ring 17 years later to bully a shot Roy Jones that had no business being in the ring, little own against a p4p fighter.

There seems to a strong bias against Jones on this site, people seem to judge him based on the Tarver fights. I'm serious.

Prime Jones beats prime Hopkins every time. Sorry.
