Gotta think this sets up nicely for a Helenius vs. Dimi fight and then a Fury vs. Chisora and then the winners fighting eachother and whoever wins that gets a shot at the title. At least thats how itd go in a perfect world where boxing wasnt completely corrupt.

Anyways, it was a great KO, more Brutal than Wlad, but he was fighting a much less game Peter, and he lost rounds to Peter. I had the fight dead even going into the 9th. I thought Helenius would win since Peter showed up at 260, but while his KO was more brutal than Wlad's his showing wasnt nearly as impressive. Helenius struggled at times with a Sam Peter that was 19 pounds heavier than the one Wlad faced 7 months ago and 23 lbs more than when he last won a fight.

I agree with Joey Zagz though, Vitali ruined sam peter. He was a good fighter, a top 10 hw, and Vitali ruined him and his career has been on a downward spiral ever since. Right now I wouldnt pick him to beat anyone in the top 25. Peter's last hope at having a high level boxing career was beating Wlad, he showed up in shape, and took it serious and was blanked. He is done now, he will take over for Monte Barrett as a somewhat recognizable names that up and comers and fighters trying to get their career back on track can test their skills on and decide what direction to go with their career.

or the 2nd fight against Klitschko...

I say the Klitschko fight, because he got beaten down in just about every round and took a ton of punishment. In the Helenius fight, although I didn't see it, I read that he was doing rather well and was ahead, until Helenius woke up in the 9th rd. and KO'd him pretty suddenly. Peter says he didn't see either of the 2 punches.

I think it was WK's boxing lesson that he gave Peter in their first fight which sent him on the downward path. Until then, he thought he was invincible, since his manaher had been feeding him with palookas who practically had to be led to the ring and propped up on the ropes until Peter was able to rabbit punch them to a "KO".

WK taught him what was what, as far as his boxing ability was concerned, and it must have been a real shock to him. Incidentally, in THIS fight, Peter was able to hit WK on the chin a few times, solidly, and the punches had absolutely NO effect on Klitschko. This alone, should have erased the supposed "glass chin" canard which follows Klitschko even to this day.

Helenius' KO was more impressive. Why did they take so long to make sure Peter was OK though?

Helenius' is the kind of KO I like to see at heavyweight.

But the Klitschkos, between them, already beat any quality out of Peter.

Wlad I had no affect on Peter. Sam Peter went on to win decent matches against Maskaev, Toney and Mccline.

But after Vitali, Sam did not win a single meaningful fight. He was being matched against garbage men and lost to Eddie Chambers.
