People disrespecting boxers

This is a discussion forum. You're going to get a ton of different opinions, from people who express those opinions a ton of different ways. If you don't like it, don't read it.

I don't refer to any fighter as a coward, but that's just me. And I also don't believe that you need to have boxed, to have an opinion. No matter how warped it may be.

Those same people criticizing Calderon or Cotto for taking a knee.. how would they react if they were getting clobbed like that?

I'm not even a Calderon/Cotto fan.. it's just that those kind of people piss me off

I used to say this all the time. I go to the boxing gym every week and have yet to hear somebody call a pro boxer a coward and nutless. People who have done it now how treacherous of a sport this is. To get to the level of a successful pro boxer is so unbelievably diminishing to the body. Something that obese keyboard warrior could never contemplate doing ever.

If the boxer has no respect to the people or boxing fans then i think that boxer deserved to be disrespected.

If you stick around this forum long enough you will get to see some of the posters pics and hear about their backgrounds. Then it will be apparent that a lot of the trash talk is just envy and hate.

It goes both ways, if a boxer doesn't respect the fans that gave him the money he's trying to brag about we as a boxing fans must return the favor and diss the fookin coward's gay ass!

I think anyone has the right to call a fighter a coward or a cherry picker etc. If that person follows boxing and is a paying customer of PPV, he should have a right to voice his/her opinion. No matter what job someone holds they can be disrespected, from boxing all the way down to working a cashier at McDonalds. People can be rude in general, but just cause your a professional boxer doesnt mean you are above everybody else.

I played Football, basketball, ran track, was a state wrestler...and fought anybody anywhere. Theres a lot of rules in boxing that protect a fighter. Half the fighters in the ring would get they asses whooped outside the ring. Everything goes outside that square circle...
