what ever happened to the 3 knockdown in 1 round.. rule

wasn't there a rule in boxing a couple years ago.. that if a fighter gets knocked down 3 times in 1 round.. that is considered a TKO/KO or something... i remember that used to be a rule, do they still have that rule.. i thought it was dumb.. but it was a rule...

It was a lot more than a couple of years ago, it was about 15-20 years ago I'd say. It lasted for a while but I think it proved unsatisfactory for some reason, maybe one or the other of the several Commissions wouldn't accept it, or continue it?....???......????
