How much did Mayweather make by keeping that money in his own bank account for the last 2 years, instead of handing it over to somebody else?

Now his accountant, will negotiate a lesser figure, then authorise payment.

The first rule of business, you don't pay your bills until your creditor is just about to initiate legal action, that applies equally to the US government.

I'm sorry but some people on this site are just as dumb as Mayweather. Before the IRS post a lein on you they give you ample time to pay them or workout a payment plan. He dosen't have the money if he did he would have payed the bill. How many millionaires are in sports and entertainment? Only a few get hit with tax leins. Why??? Because they don't pay their taxes. Simple and Plain! There is no conspiracy and Floyd is not hanging on to the money for a rainy day. This is just a classic case of a foolish out of control individual. We don't hear about DLH or Mosley or Berto or Williams not paying their taxes. You act silly and reckless and spend the same way, this is what happens....

                  What ?

You think that Mayweather simply " forgot " to pay his taxes ?

                  Really ?

Dude, this is AT LEAST the third time that the IRS has filed a lien on Mayweather.

                  Coincidence?

But you think that Mayweather actually forgot to pay his taxes..... AGAIN?

                  Please.....

Come on man, you can't be that silly, surely.

It's called playing the game. Taxes are simply borderline theft, those who are in a position to play the system to their advantage, do so without hesitation.

Yeah that's right man, Floyd " forgot "..... AGAIN !!

Stop the May-bash and smarten up you guys

You wish you all had a $3mil tax bill

Who the *** is ****** enough to think that.....
1.) Mayweather does not have an accountant
                  2.) Mayweather's accountant " forgot " to pay his 2009 tax bill

                  Dumbarses.

Whatever investment he wants to hedge with that money needs to yield a higher interest than the unpaid tax penalties for him to come out the winner, but your still right in your strategy, though it requires more strategic financial planning.
