I admit that Wlad-Peter I, Wlad did not look that impressive. But still, Wlad-Peter II, Wlad looked a lot more impressive against him than Helenius did. I don't even think anyone gave Peter a round in their second fight. The Peter that Wlad fought, came in at like, 240lbs? and Peter got dominated and knocked the **** out. Yes, Helenius knocked him out cold too, but this is a Peter that came in 20lbs heavier compared to his fight with Wlad.

Like I said, I can't think of a top heavyweight that Helenius can beat.

I disagree. Helenius is a big dude with very heavy hands, a natural gift. He is very dangerous for anybody in the HW division.

I certainly hope he can prove me wrong. Wouldn't mind having another top heavyweight.

You are selling Helenius short. He worked behind the jab until Peter got tired and then dropped the bomb.

Funny part is, before round 9, Wegner was gesturing with his right hand and telling Helenius to "do like Klitschko" and knock out Peter.

          Message received.
          Good post.

Helenius can punch as hard as anybody.

His defense does need some work though, Peter landed a few more than he should have.

It was a bit odd that it took Helenius so much time to adjust to Peter who was very heavy and slow, but once he did it and followed that frequent 1-2 combination of his with a left hook, Peter was put out in impressive fashion. Great to see the highlight reel KO make the news as fast as it did too, just in time.

It was not Helenius's most impressive fight overall but he displayed that he has the power to knock most heavyweights out if he can land right. The fight also showed that he has some weaknesses to work on. I would like to see him make stronger use of the jab and not be so tentative in the future. With a record of only 15 fights there's no reason to count him out as a contender yet, especially when he just blasted out one of the mainstays of the recent heavyweight era.

Sure, he can improve a few things. But even now, he is a threat to anybody with the punching power he has.

No wonder Brewster thought he used loaded gloves. Hands of stone that guy has.

i thought Helenius used the jab fairly effectively -- he was snapping Sam's head back and had his eyes puffy by round 6. He was back on his heels a little too much as Sam came forward, though.

But hey, the ending was spectacular. Helenius just moved himself into title shot contention.

Does anybody have a link to the video of this?

Between Helenius, Boytsov, Povetkin and a few others, we might get a couple of good fights this year. I hope they all stop screwing around and start fighting each other, Wlad and Vitali pretty much cleaned the division above these guys.

Wow, great result for Helenius. To be honest I was a bit skeptical about his abilities, but he keeps winning and getting better and proving himself. This is a great result for Helenius!

Saw the KO, wow, very nice KO.
