You are talking drivel here, what smart fighter, who is a businessman would allow a few words said about his wife...which she well deserved, by the way, (I see no one is talking about what SHE first said about Manny P.'s wife) to interfere in his career, amounting potentially to maybe $50-$100 million dollars.
Only an ignorant, macho, ******o. Of course Donaire hasn't shown himself to be very bright so far, and I can't see that changing. Ignorance -yes, but ******ity- NEVER.
What I can't see is why, yes WHY posters who are smart enough to be able to read and write, have to follow him in his ******ity, and NOT adhere to the factual common-sensical history of this whole event. It's been thoroughly published.
Is there actually, truly, really, a DUMBO gene in boxing fans....????
This is Nonito, not Manny.
3-4 fights will not generate anywhere near that amount, not even close.
Donaire should tell Arum to go *** himself, and flatly refuse to even talk to him.Comment

Best strategy would be to hold a meeting with Arum and Duboef, leave Jin Mosley at home, and iron out their differences and talk about a road map for the immediate to long term future that benefits both sides. Donaire could even demand to be put on the Pacquiao undercard in November.
Mediation is the key. Arum and Pacquiao were in the same situation a few years ago, I'd say it worked out well for both sides...Comment

donaire should just finish out his contract with TR. it's dumb to take TR to court and sit on the sidelines for another year. that would hurt his p4p status and career.Comment

Great strategy, that way he can stay inactive until 2013 or whenever it is that Top Rank's option runs out.

It worked out for Hoya, and it worked out for Mayweather, but the Manny deal has only "worked out" for Bob Arum.
Manny pays 27% of his contracted fee directly to Arum, and he pads his legacy with Top Rank no-hopers so that Bob can also take the middle-money.
Manny is a puppet who thinks he is in charge of his own destiny.Comment

Business & Personal Issues
The only issue is that this old man happens to be his boss. So, tolerate this old fart for now, and then when the contract expires, check out what the free market has to offer - can't go wrong with that strategy.
With regards to DLH and Mayweather trashing each other - I don't know what their circumstances were, but did the comments extend to their spouses? And even if they were harsh, my point is that at some point there must have been some kind of personal reconciliation.
Nonito was obviously not happy with Top Rank, so how will ridiculing his wife in public help persuade him to stay? Arum has to atone for his comments if he wants Nonito to extend his contract - and this is where business gets personal.Comment

I totally agree that Donaire should bite the bullet and continue working with Arum to maximize his earnings and exposure... until he has other options. But being newlyweds - they have been married for what now - for only about a year - and this old man starts openly criticizing the main love of his life?! Filipinos are very family oriented - and especially to their spouses - somethings gotta give here.
