I think the 1st roy jones fight and the 2nd Taylor fight were the only fights he's ever clearly lost in his whole career. The 1st Jones fight I just don't think he was nearly as ring smart as he is now ato make it competitive and the 2nd Taylor fight was the oldest he's ever looked I think because he let Taylor get too ahead like the 1st fight with the double jabbing and Hopkins just came on way too late that fight and didn't even win the later rounds as convincingly as the 1st.

I could see Dawson doing what Taylor did effectively maybe but I think Hopkins has learned from his mistake then too just give as many rounds away as he did in those fights. Dawson doesn't really look good coming forward, I know he almost stopped Pascal but I think Pascal just fades late in fights too. All that running away really takes a toll.

I think it's better for the division that theres really not a clear stand out. It makes for good fights and better match up's because theres no clear dominant fighter especially with the super middleweight division being so competitive now. It makes for some real competitive exciting match up's between the divisions in the future. Better for boxing IMO. Then maybe somebody young can come up and dominate the competition to really draw attention rather Ward who will probably dominate but ugly.

I always imagine Hopkins will finally get old, but the son of a ***** never does.

still, Dawson is a much worse style matchup for him than Pascal, and I think he knows it as well.

I know the popular opinion is Bad Chad would smoke Pascal in a rematch but most likely Hopkins will probably ruin his chance at doing it anytime soon because frankly I don't think Pascal has the jab or heart to beat Hopkins. Because a high work rate is a good way to beat Hopkins but then Hopkins would just rough him up with his savy dirty inside game that would cut him up and make him fold IMO.

But thats not the point. I know a lot of people think Chad would beat Hopkins but I'd say Hopkins has a very good chance of taking that upset too. But I think it's pretty easy to beat an old past it defensive fighter like Tarver because he's pretty much just a younger version of them but I think Tarver had more power. But Dawson was younger and faster. And when he is active Glenn Johnson almost beat him the 1st time, then when he got defensive he beat him convincingly.

However, Dawson might be able to use the jab to beat Hopkins like Taylor did but I don't think he's active enough to really clearly beat Hopkins. I think Hopkins might rough him up a bit. And if he's not active and lets Hopkins set the pace then the fight is already half loss.

I think that would be a really close fight. Might be ugly but I don't think there would be a clear winner. Hopkins never gets dominated so I definitely could see a split decision.
