should us boxing comissions allow 15 year old pros...

why doesn't the US boxing commissions allow Americans to turn pro at the age of 15.. like Mexico does...

i mean you have to be 18 to turn pro in america...

Pacquiao had his first professional fight at 16

saul alvarez went pro at 15..

do you think us boxing comissions should allow americans to turn pro at 15 year old....

    what do you think

What would be the point exactly?..It wont matter either way considering "most American atheletes are going into the NFL or basketball"...

LOL good luck passing that through Congress. The obvious answer is the US is not Mexico or the Phillippines. Pacquiao had to fight to put food on the table, not because he was initially striving to become #1 P4P. They won't let today's 15 yr olds cross the street on their own much less become Prize Fighters at 15??

15 is too young, their bodies and minds are still developing. With some of the ruthless promoters in this game these kids could be injured for life unless they were brought up against the lowest level of competition. I mean in most cases it would be boy vs man, strength wise a mismatch and trouble waiting to happen. Anyway, america is bringing up extremely soft kids these days, a parent can't even repremand their kids with spankings in these times, it's really a sorry state of affairs today. They have banned dodge ball in schools and push for games were there is no loser. It is rediculous really. But honestly 15 is just too young. In the amatuers a 15 year old is not allowed to fight anybody 16 or older for safety reasons........Rockin'

I would be very much against letting 15 year olds turn pro in the US.

Just the day before yesterday I wrote about Tommy Farr who tuerned pro at 13, and had already had many boxing booth fights before that.

At 18 a guy, theoretically is still within school age, still a "boy", not a man, He;s a "man" (maybe) after age 18, becuase he has the Franchise and can vote.

And he's still in his strong growing stages, and professional boxing training cannot be really beneficial to a growing kid. Unless of course, he is carfefully nurtured and brought along slowly and with great care. And if he turns pro at 15, what sort of amateur background of any importance could he possible have?? NONE. It's just primitive.

I know that in less developed countries, and in today's deveoped world, many years ago kid DID turn pro at early ages, and some did well. But what could they perhaps have achieved if they's been properly handled.

And we don't exactly know how many of them developed "boxing senility" at an unnaturally early age...Like Gerry Quarry and Floyd Patterson for instance. I'm not talking here about the Pugilistic Parkinson's Syndrome, an althogehter different thing.

The medical people still don't know (I can be corrected here) why some, like George Chuvalo, who's taken a ton of head shots, haven't become "punchy", and guys like poor Patterson did. Ingemar Johansen also.

ANYWAY.....I'M AGAINST IT. I mean turning pro at a very young age.

I think that is way too young. But then again there could be a 15 year old doing a lot worse things in their lives which getting paid to box could keep them away from.

But also we can't forget the U.S competes in the Olympics for boxing, so we do need our amateurs.
