Comments Thread For: Andre Berto is Looking For a Showcase Against Victor Ortiz

In November, WBC welterweight titlist Andre Berto of Winter Haven, Fla., turned in what he hoped would be another consecutive, signature performance, this, with a 2 minute, seven-second stoppage of previously, once-beaten, Freddy Hernandez, of Mexico City, before a stunned crowd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

COurse he is, that's why he's fighting a smaller guy with fragile confidence.

If Ortiz focuses on the right things he can make it a long night for Berto,he needs to focus on his uppercut and overhand right..He sends those punches with a bit of movement he could win this thing..

Berto of course ya looking for a showcase(lol)that's why ya made this fight and pretended like Cintron did not call ya a Bivth..

This could easily turn out to be a great fight... Berto is a lion.. He has made several lame defenses but some of them have been through no fault of his own... He was on tap to fight Mosley, has been in negotiations several times with Cotto, wanted Pac... He has good intentions.. but the fact that he isn't a draw makes his possible opponents look elsewhere.. And quite frankly, his jaw has many of them thinking a fight with him is a waste of time.. Berto very well looks like someone who goes down hard. Would love to see him fight Cotto and I think he could win... Doesn't stand a chance with Floyd or Pac though

ummm.. Newsflash.. Cotto is a great fighter.. But he is on the downslide. Berto COULD give this "new" Cotto problems... Also, Bob doesn't want Cotto to fight Berto.. Why??? NO ONE KNOWS!!!!!!
