    Tapia KO'd

Featherweight Sandro Marcos (25-13-2, 21 KO's) scored a shocking second round knockout of former world champion Johnny Tapia (55-5-2, 28 KO's) at the Avalon Ballroom in Chicago. The hard-hitting Marcos connected with a left hook to the ribs that dropped Tapia to his knees for the full count. Time was 2:59.

    Yeah what bull****.

Tapia looked fine. He was looking up at the ref telling him to get his mouthpiece. I couldn't believe that ****. They can't find an opponent much worse. They'd need some british *** or something for that.

Its definitely time for Tapia to retire.

It sucks to watch a fighter go out that way. Its far time Johnny hangs em up.

I was going to make a thread on that. Only thing is, it disgusts me.

I cant see arguably my favorite fighter of all time go out like that.

Yup, it was very painful to watch especially when Tapia was literally crawling in the ring after that body shot. He gave us plenty of exciting fights and I think it's time to go hang the gloves.

Tapia's never been stopped before tonight. 2nd round? It did look like a damn good shot. But still. Imagine what Oscar Larios would've done to him.

The fact that Tapia is alive, let alone able to fight at all is impressive. Just a couple years ago he was on life support.

                  In my opinion.

Tapia only had 1 loss prior to this fight. That was against Barrera. Every other fight was an outright robbery.

He was Robbed big time against Ayala and Archuleta

Lets also not forget him participating in one of the most anticipated fights of all time.....in Romero v.s. Tapia.

Easily DLH v.s. Trinidad of the bantamweight division.
