Ortiz is lucky he moved up. Rios is red hot and would spark his ass at 140.

True, but it is still hard to watch faded legends go up against the top up-and-comer's..... I am not a huge fan of gate-keeper fights that involve shot champions.

I prefer guys to work their way up the ladder beating fellow prospects/contenders, not leaping a few rungs just because they beat a faded legend who was well-past his prime.

Quite often, a fellow prospect/contender would offer a much sterner test than would a shot champion.

I agree with you here. I understand why fighters like Maidana and Rios are fighting (or looking to fight) Morales and Barrera because they involve large paydays and a name on their record and Morales even called out Maidana (he must be crazy). But my love for Morales and Barrera wishes they would just retire, they've given us everything in all their wars and fighting beasts like Maidana and Rios at this point in their careers is scary. After these fights though, we should see some great fights with Rios and Maidana at 135 and 140 lbs, unfortunately we may have to wait until late 2011 or 2012 to get them...

Yup, I am not interested in either of those fights.
