If he re-signs with Golden Boy , they are offering him a fight with Robert Guerrero and Zab Judah and they can possibly get him Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana as well.

If he goes to Top Rank , they'll probably give him a Manny Pacquiao fight and then afterwards they have lightweights available in Brandon Rios , Urbano Antillon and Humberto Soto.

As Juan Manuel Marquez fans , which of the two options would you prefer?

Well JMM wants the Pacquaio fight, as a fan of his I want him to get that.


The rest are all about the same so if he has to sign with Top Rank to get what he most desires that is what he should do.

Golden Boys options are a bit better, if you ask me. With Golden Boy, he has the best chance of retiring on a high note. Not because the fights are easier. Simply because the fights would mean more.

Aside from Pacquiao, all the options Top Rank provide him with are decent, but not great fighters at 135 pounds. With GBP, he has three JR. Welterweights that have/could have championships at the time of him moving up. A win for a "title" at 140 pounds would cap his career off nicely. Guerrero is even planning to move up and he COULD capture a title.

Still, he could possibly beat all of Top Ranks fighters and still go after a major title at 140 anyway. It would just take more managing with Bob Arum.
