Would Tyson have received credit for beating Holyfield?

By the time they fought, do you guys think Tyson would have received much credit had he defeated Holyfield?

At the time, it seemed to have been more of a triumph for Holyfield than it would have been for Tyson. I actually believe Tyson would have received more praise for winning the rematch after we all saw how formidable Holyfield was in the first fight.

I was young then, but I remember most people saying Tyson would definitely win and probably kill Holyfield, so probably not. The hype was full force because he came back destroying people.

Holyfield had looked completely shot in his previous fight (third fight against Bowe I think) and going into it prety much everybody reckoned it would be an easy fight for Tyson so I guess he wouldn't have gotten huge credit.

It was looked at as a 50/50 fight when they 1st fought. They were supposed to fight years prior when both were in their primes, but Mike ended up in jail and Holyfield had his battles with Bowe, Foreman, etc. But if Mike won, he def would've gotten cred, especially considering he was in jail for some time and it would've cemented his 2nd run. But I think Holyfield just had the style to beat him.

Holyfield was an absolute terrible match up for Tyson. However if Tyson won it would probably have been like when Pac beats Mosley in May. Kind of pointless. But if he lost the same way in the 2nd, but came back and won the 2nd. That would have been some ***** and made for a great trilogy!

maybe? prolly. he already gets too much credit anyway, despite having one of the weakest resumes, at least as far as WINNING THE FIGHT goes. haha tyson got that HEAD RUNG BOYYYYY. . . haha wait, let me guess, tyson "wasn't in his prime" when buster douglas thumped that ass, nor when holyfield beat the breaks off that poser HAHAHAHAHHA. he got embarrassed into retirement by an irish drunkard HAHAHAH what a bum. . .
