Comments Thread For: Dirrell: Froch Will Beat Johnson, But It Won't Be Easy

Super middleweight Andre Dirrell is backing WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch to beat Glen Johnson in the semi-finals of the Super Six tournament. Their fight is scheduled for June 4 in Atlantic City. Dirrell doesn't see it as an easy for Froch. He expects Johnson to give him a very tough time.

Unfortunately, this doesn't sound like a confident guy to me. What if Froch doesn't win the Super Six, Dirrell gets a belt and Froch becomes the number one contender! Does that mean Dirrell will avoid him? If I were Dirrell, I would fight any of them except I would stay away from Ward. Dirrell has the skills to beat all the others but maybe not the heart and confidence to do so. I wonder if he will ever live up to his potential...

Dirrell should be itching to rematch Froch, not saying "i'm not really bothered about it"

what is up with this kid's head?

There's a big reason he does not wanna rematch Froch, and that's cause he will be stopped if he did fight him again..He will fill more compelled to fight and not hold and run which will open up counter punching for Froch..Froch would stopped him as well, best fight for Dirrell is Ward being the fact he does not punch hard..Or AA he already beat his ass..

I feel what Dirrell is saying he's right, its gonna be a tough fight and a great fight, thinking about going to it, only 7 hour drive, anyways I think it will be Johnson who secures the sd personally. I wanna see Dirrell - Froch again, but only for a belt, that's why we box, for the prize, same as last time though, Dirrell outboxes him, as Froch misses, maybe Froch will land more than 15% , also I hope its here and not in England again.

I think this is going to be a hell of a battle and could easily go either way. i think if it plays out like i think it could be a contender for FOTY as im anticipating a real brawl and possibly some knock downs but a 12 round decision to one of them.
definitely looking forward to this scrap

What ya got on Johnson??PM me with a num we can place a bet on it..

Froch is no AA(Dirrell best win to date)his hands move when yours do,the only reason Froch did not land more on Dirrell was because Dirrell was holding and running he fought nothing like he did against AA...But there was a reason behind it and the reason was...Yup ya guessed it Froch's punches,if they ever fought again I don't hope it's here..I say go to Canada an let un-bias judges score the fight...

Come on Dirrell you need to have fought about 2-3 times already. I think you could have been a bit too fast for Ward. I think it might be because he wants to start clean and pray the whole world forgot they saw him crying after the fight. "Who called me a little b*tch?" LOL.

I held him and Dawson in high regard last year now there starting to disappoint me. I think Johnson is going to upset Froch too but he might get robbed.

we watched two different fights then, I saw a guy boxing, and I saw another guy getting outboxed, holding it part of the game, its annoying but effective at smothering punches, so lets say Dirrell was worried about Frochs power, which is Taylor and journeyman knock outs, anyways, if Dirrell was worried about his power then he out smarted Froch by staying on the outside, and when the fight got pulled to this inside, a little holding and punching. Dirrell looked different against AA because of AA' s power, he knew not to let him on the inside, stayed on the outside hit and move, turn AA, hence AA' S frustration and the resulting foul.

No he looked good because of AA's lack of activity,I'm all for boxing one of my favorite boxers of all times was the best(imo)of all time at it and that's Sugar Ray..But there's a difference between boxing and avoiding, and what Dirrell was doing was avoiding..You don't win fights like that and ya damn sure don't take a champs belt like that..Did you think he deserved a point deduction for the holding??Answer carefully, really think about that fight..
