Actually I don't think so. Hopkins is the bigger fighter and Hopkins does it better so I don't think Ward goes for that style at all unless he wants a taste of his own medicine but worst. Maybe he'll do it for a round or 2 but once he relies he can't do what Hopkins does best he'll change I think.
I think he'd actually be better off boxing and use speed to beat Hopkins anyway. It's the only proven way of even having a chance of beating Hopkins. It'd be the ultimate fight of passing the torch. New Generation Hopkins vs Old Generation.
I think Ward still has a lot to learn to really master the art of the Hopkins fighting style. Hopkins has too much tricks up his sleeves, he'd probably be too savy & slick and win a decision in a exciting fight I think one that would push Ward to push the pace and brawl if he wants a chance at winning.
Be a good learning experience for Ward though and another win too really enhance Hopkins legacy of one of the best fighters in the last 30 years in the likes of Pernell, Duran, Whitaker, Hagler, Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield, Hearns, ect.Comment
