simply put, jml is in the top rank witness protection program. he makes the most with his gullible pr fan base so ill keep gamboa away from him 4ever.

Both fighters are known in their respective countries but lacks PPV exposure in the US of A which would bring in the money needed to pay these fighters.....it's business with Arum and the networks......I'm sure both fighters want a 7 figure earnings for the match
I just cant see HBO forking over 3 million for the fight. The problem is what does a victory for Gamboa or Lopez do for HBO. Now that Arum has lost Donaire it can't be assumed that Donaire would bulk up for the challenge but that to me would have made a lot of sense.

Right now 500-750k is all I think HBO would be willing to pay each guy.

Arum's lying. He didn't let Montiel-Donaire buildup with more Filipinos and casual fans. It was an astronomical risk with minimal reward for Montiel because of Donaire's lack of following. There's nobody else at feather. Gamboa won't get any more popular because there aren't very many Cubans. in the U.S.

Very true, but I think it should be more like 60% JML and 40% Gamboa to be fair. JML has 8 million rabid Boricua fans, tons of fans in New York because of buzz created by the New Yorikans and a large following of Mexicans because he's fought alot of Mexicans. Furthermore, JML has cleaned out the division and fought bigger names so he's also got a bigger following among casual fans. Gamboa keeps getting JML's scraps.

If it's on PPV, I won't buy it! HBO keeps showing these guys fighting minor names and must be making some kind of money. $1.5 million a piece shouldn't be hard for HBO to pay, considering Berto was getting that kind of money for no names. These are the two best guys in the division (along with Chris John). I think if HBO paired them on a NY or NJ card with good competition and then had them fight in Puerto Rico, those would be huge fights gate wise. I think if HBO doesn't want to pay them, maybe Showtime who does many lower weight fights could do it. I don't know but personally, I don't buy it Bob...

When it comes to Arum, it's all about $$$.

What i don't understand is why 2 up and coming fighters need to be on ppv at this point. They should fight on HBO or SHOBox and then we'll know who we should be paying for the next time around.
