Comments Thread For: Bakhtin Faces Domingo or Singsurat on Jones-Lebedev Bill

On Sunday, IBF #5 ranked bantamweight and former long-time Japanese champion Alexander Bakhtin (26-0, 11 KOs) made another step to recognition with a one-sided decision against Tanzanian Mbwana Matumla (19-6, 11 KOs) over ten easy rounds. Bakhtin, who is a citizen of Russian Federation and Russian by ethnicity, is a record-breaking Japanese champion, nevertheless. He defended his bantamweight title nine times in a row which is a national record for Japan.

Domingo would be an OK keep-busy fight but Singsurat has been KO'd in every meaningful fight he's had in the past decade. Bakhtin has been fighting for 11 years and needs a title shot or at least a fight against a legitimate contender pretty soon
