@ idiots the trying to justify it, ok, "champ_kw", it will be in a Soccer Stadium, say a 30,000 venue, who going to fill it, the locals? Half the matches at the World cup were empty. Will you be flying out to South Africa? Spending money on accommodation and then paying for your ticket on top of that? It will probably set you back at least $1500 for the trip just for a lower end seat.
Remember, "When it’s all said and done, the fans don’t pay my bills, I do. The fans don’t put my kids through college, I do. My job is to save my family. I fight for Floyd Mayweather"
Floyd does no care about you, so stop caring about him so much.Last edited by Slick_Rick; 03-28-2011, 02:49 PM.Comment

It's not about justifying it. It's about the truth. How much is Top Rank getting paid? And you're crapping on the South African venue as if it was Floyd's idea. Apparently Arum and the Mandela's think it's a good idea. So now that Floyd ask for financial parity as Arum, it's all of a sudden gonna be half full with locals. If Lennox can fight Rahman in South Africa, I'm sure this fight will do alright. And the point of you putting that quote up is what?? I hope you don't think Peyton Manning throws touchdowns for you? I hope you don't think that homerun Albert Pujols hit is for is adoring fans in Des Moines, Iowa? Get off the hate bandwagon. He just stated the obvious. It's on you if you look for athletes to fulfill something in your life more than a sporting experience.^^^^

You're a clown. What contract does Floyd have with Golden Boy or Don King. Just because he brought in partners with an HBO connect and deeper pockets don't mean he doesn't have his own promotional company that he fights under. If that "Mayweather Promotions" banner you saw on the highest ppv fight in history meant nothing as you suggest, we would be seeing a "Manny Pacquiao Promotions" banner....but we don't because.....he fights for Top Rank! And him being in a position to ask for financial parity as the other promoter of the fight is something other fighters would never have the chance to do. So stop letting the hate be so strong that you don't see the significance in that. And you bringing up a now defunct record label and IRS issues is similar to stating that Pac's failed first attempt at Congressman insinuates he's not a good Congressman. Be an adult. Some things work out, some don't. But you won't answer the real question I posed....how much is Bob Arum and Top Rank set to make off this potential fight? You and I both know it's well over $100 million. So a promotional outlet (which happens to be the participating fighters company) asking for parity isn't that far fetched. You'll forever be an "employee" with your mode of thinking.Except Floyd doesn't fight under his promotional company. His last several fights have been through Golden Boy. And that's why Don King has been talking with Floyd lately, so Floyd can fight under Don King Promotions.
So, how's Philthy Rich Records doing? And how are those outstanding IRS debts going? Let's not forget demanding $100 million for a fight. Great business sense indeed.

Arum wouldn't lie about Mandela, he has too many provable facts in his statement, it would ruin him socially and most other ways. Mandela is a world famous figure. And I'm pretty sure he was telling the truth, as he USUALLY does. He is a lawyer and knows that there has to be some truth in statements to make them credible. And don't forget, he's dealing with scum all the time who wouldn't know the truth is it rose up and kicked them in the face. I find him basically truthful, sometimes slightly exaggerating for publicity purposes. etc.
That LONG LONG ago statement, "I was lying yesterday I'm telling thetruth today" ..if he EVER actually said it, which has ever been confirmed as far as I can tell, it is of absolutely NO relevance today. He is the world's TOP PROMOTER by a long mile.Comment

Arum was handing on what the African Committee, who CAME TO SEE MAYWEATHER, told him.Comment

Arum is only a shady character to you and people like you, who really are foolish to repeat what other ignoramuses have said.. He DEALS with shady people all the time, and has to be smarter than them.
He's a highly respected member of the ***ish community and the world community, particularly the numerous charities and retires fighters he supports with lavish contributions.Comment

You could BETTER ask, "WHICH BOXING COMMISSION HAS COMMITTED TO OST?".....DUMBO.Comment

You are talking PURE DREK, I'm sorry to say. Arum was merely TRYING to get as definite answer from Mayweather, who was playing him around.
Is that so hard ot understand?? Every businessman has dome this repeatedly. If you were in business and trying to really make a deal with reluctant others, you'd be doing thenvery same thing.
Why is that so difficult to understand, and better yet...WHY do you see spmething SINISTER about Arum in it.
Is it because he is a ***???Comment
