Manny wins against bigger opponents with catchweights. Anytime other opponents move up in weight via catchweight and lose it's always 'a middleweight is pounding on welterweight' or sometimes it completely backfires. I'll cite some recent examples Saul Alvarez vs Matthew Hatton catchweight 150 for WBC 154lb title. Result Matthew lost via unanamious decision. Paul Williamsvs Sergio Martinez II catchweight 158 for 160lb title I believe Williams wanted it and that backfired on him big time. If you can think of more examples please share them.
Catchweights don't always win fights

I believe Hopkins vs Oscar was a catchweight and how ironic Hopkins nails him in the gut where Oscar wasn't the one cutting lower in weight and he's the one that got dropped with a beautiful body shot hahaha.Comment

But it was still set at a catchweight of 150. The point I'm trying to make is exactly what the title of the thread is. Sure I don't agree with catchweights for title fights but they don't weight drain to the effect that the bigger fighter can't fight back.Comment
