  • The only thing that didn't impress me was his dirty rabbit punching and the final knockdown where he manage to land 2 shots at the back of the head and 1 shot on his back and another on his back while he was down. Got a little bit too dirrrty and should have been deducted a point and could have been close to DQ'd at the end. But this dude can really fight and his flashy skills and physical gifts are very impressive on the eye!! The dirty fightining wouldn't have made a difference..he was too ruthless!!!!!!!!!

        • Gamboa has extremely special skills...speed and agility/reflexes.

A JuanMa/Gamboa fight would be awesome...greedy Arum won't let it happen though but I have to say...Gamboa ended the fight much quicker than I thought he would based on his recent performances. This shows me that he is capable of putting the other guy down pretty much whenever he decides to turn it on which will ultimately lead to him getting tagged more as he is wreckless when in that mode. I feel his skills will win out 99% of the time though.

Its a damn shame that the current regime in Cuba prevents these Cuban fighters from truly reaching their potential. Gamboa is reaching that dangerous age where it could all go south pretty quickly. At this point, he should be fighting the top tier guys, instead he's making his way up top.

Existen registros históricos que lo muestran, no discutas.

Apparently, our biggest fault is having been born Puertorican.

This site ****ing disgusts me sometimes.

Gamboa went in there and did what he was suppose to do, I even predicted around the same round it happened before the fight. It was also evident Solis was just there for a paycheck, and as soon as he felt Gamboa's power and speed he pretty much knew it was over. Good win for Gamboa but I really wanna see him in there with the Lopez and Chris John's of the world, he's ready for that no more journeymen.
Careful bro, you might be labeled as Rican, wouldn't want that....

I saw the interview and I really like this guy a lot. I don't think he is full of himself like I claimed. I think he is just very confident. And he should be , he has great talent and is a great fighter.

But to me that wasn't an impressive win. Why??

Because I think I kind of expected that from this fight , and he didn't show me anything new , except patience.

In other words , I knew he was capable of that.

It was a dominant win. A good win , over an experienced guy. But a guy who never stood a chance. A guy who is levels beneath him. So I don't want to discredit the win. But I don't want to exaggerate it either. Like some ppl on here are doing.

Bob Arum took the meat out. It was already defrosted. And it is now being seasoned for a great , great meal. And he knows exactly what he is doing.

And we know exactly what he is doing. And truly , both guys benefit from it.

We are just crazy to see that fight.

I really don't know who to pick. Ill be rooting for my Boricua no doubt. But they are both in for a hell of a fight that will not go to the scorecards.

                      Its a 50/50 fight.
on the performance itself, good win for Gamboa over a fading Solis coming back to a weight class he had left some time ago.

On Gamboa overall, amazing physical abilities, very fast hands but my impression of him is still a weak chin, inconsistent performances and a guy who does amazing things in a very unorthodox manner. some of the punches he knocked Solis down were thrown from very strange angles amazingly quick. That said I think if Juan Manuel fights a smart fight he probably KO's Gamboa. Lopez seems to be the real deal with only a few flaws, brawling when he doesn't need to.
