Former world champion Ricardo Mayorga could return to the ring in September, against an opponent by name, in what is the final stretch of his boxing career. Sandinista Councilman Enrique Armas will provide a tribute to the late Alexis Arguello in September and there are already talks about the comeback of Mayorga being on the show. Mayorga fought a few weeks ago at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and was stopped by Miguel Cotto in the twelfth round.

I think Mayorga performed better than expected against Cotto and now Arum will not risk his latest cash cow.

Mayorga KOing JCC Jr would be the best thing to happen in boxing this year.

Chávez Jr. better be very careful, Mayorga may get in his head and on his nerves and KTFO him before he realizes.

Mayorga didn't look too bad at all. He was taking punches from a WW though. I'm not sure how his chin has really held up when he fights bigger 154 pounders and Middleweights. He can still win a decent fight I think if matched right.
