    Those were the special treatment seats, but I just saw the HBO give Nick his wish, awesome move and it was great of Papas to acknowledge Nick.

    Great overall night in AC.

      Like that article in the NY Daily News said:

      There are very few acts of kindness in boxing, because the business is so cutthroat. Bernstein and Greenburg are to be applauded for granting Charles a dying wish. It is truly a humane act in a cruel world.

      I love the fact that Charles just worked the entire fight like he would any other fight, he seeked no remorse, just do what he loved, and that is covering boxer. I hate the day that we will receive the news, but at least he wont be suffering anymore. Classy move by HBO, Arum and Papa for letting Charles take his spot for one fight.

He was touched by a comment from Charles in the article that he'd like to cover one more fight for television before he died, but that it probably wouldn't happen. Bernstein and Charles were acquainted because Charles had been the host for some of the HBO pay-per-view shows in the 1990s.

          Bernstein was so moved by the comment that he went to Ross Greenburg, HBO Sports president, and told him he was going to use Charles on the Garcia-Remillard fight. Greenburg agreed that they should. After determining that Charles would be available and strong enough to work, they finalized the details.
          major props to rick burnstein. thanks for the article too mark.

          i swear charles sounded just like he alwaus did. I like papa too, but charles threw in a nice color comment or two on how remillard looked discouraged before the other announcers mentioned it.

          charles manages the color guys very very well, serves them up topics to share insight better than anyone else imo. lampley serves up softballs, charles asks questions more for boxing people, lamps for the casual fan.

          A++ for hbo.

          I bet it was Floyd or Bob Arums idea really.
