    Pirog vs Williams???

    Hear me out.

Obviously Pirog was less than stellar today, but I'm not looking to see what NSB's opinion on who wins is; it's just that this is simply a good idea.

If this fight was on world championship boxing or second fiddle on a massive undercard (say one of Pacquiao's) then both fighters might have a reason to take it.

Pirog needs to a) get rid of some bad memories from tonight, b) get some more exposure in the US (not that that's absolutely essential, but it's just how the game works) and c) add a name to his resume.

Williams needs to a) get rid of some bad memories from the Martinez fight, b) get some more exposure in the US (because let's face it, PWill ain't exactly got the biggest name recognition), and he would also have the chance to do c), which is pick up a belt

A win for either would build impetus for a Martinez showdown, and would also entitle the winner to look towards Martinez rather than at low-reward, high-risk contenders like Golovkin and Lemieux.

I know that the scenario outlined above has very little chance of happening, but THOUGHTS??

First of all, Williams doesn't remember much from the fight with Martinez.

I hope this fight would go through as each one is at the crossroad.

          Hahaha good one mate.

And that's exactly it, it's marketable and would make sense for both.

I can't make my mind up as to the pick. If it goes to the cards then Williams would be favourite for me as Pirog would probably get lost in the punch output, but I'm not sure about Williams' chin at 160. And I know Martinez was exceptional that night, but Pirog is still a natural middleweight, maybe even super-middle, and Williams is just so vulnerable. Really difficult call IMO.

IMO, it depends on the continual output rate of Williams and the ability of Pirog to decipher William's increasingly suspect defense. Would be a good fight.

Definitely a damn good fight that should happen. If Pirog wants to really impress people and prove he atleast should be in the ring with martinez, he can beat Williams.

Although I think Williams pressure will be a bit too much and barring a perfectly placed punch like Sergio, Williams should get him out of there in a hell of a fight!

I think Pirog did fine tonight. His style against defensive guys not really willing to trade and just cover up most of the fight he's not going to look amazing. Against guys that give him openings, he's going to look impressive.

williams/pirog would be a dope fight. Wont happen but it's interesting. All I know is williams is constantly open to be hit
