    Is Barrera suffering from complacency?

Marco Antonio Barrera says he has nothing to lose when he steps into the ring with Robbie Peden.

The Baby Faced Assassin has his WBC belt on the line at the MGM Grand on Saturday evening, but insists that anything else he achieves in the sport from now on is a bonus.

"I've met, achieved and surpassed all my goals," he told Sky Sports News. "At this point, all I want to do is keep giving exciting fights to all my fans until I retire."

    ----------------------

Sounds like he's preparing for a loss?

And the year of upsets continues....

i dont think hes gettin complacent, i just think he feels that he aint really got anything left in boxing to achieve, despite various rumors i cant see him goin up to 135lbs and fight at lightweight for a title at a fourth weight and i reckon he never dreamed of being a 3 weight champion, maybe a 2 weight champ but never a 3 weight champion, barrera if he wanted to could still make bantamweight at 122lbs. so what barrera is sayin is true,he has surpassed and achieved all his goals in boxing, we gotta enjoy barrera while we still can because he aint gonna be around much longer. hes only got 6 fights left in him he said, so im hopin before he retires he will fight pacquaio again. after that he aint got nothing else to prove in boxing.

The Pac man fight and the Morales fight last week will mean that he will take Peden seriously

Doesn't sound like he's itching to jump into the ring with Paq to avenge his loss, now, does it?

i admit he aint jumpin at the chance right now, but that could change after he fights peden and morales fights pacman, that could set up a huge fight for pacman and barrera next year.

dont get me wrong i badly want barrera to get in the ring with pacqauio again to try and avenge his loss but if he dont, he will still go down as a legend and a hall of fame fighter with or without another match with the pacman when he retires.

I don't think Barrera has ever wanted to fight Pacquiao again.

Pacquiao hurt him, and I think from these comments above - Barrera doesn't want to get involved in anymore wars at this stage of his career.

Too bad, though it's not like a rematch is necessary, seeing as he was so thoroughly demolished by Paq.

It will tarnish his legacy some but he's had enough big wins to make up for it, I agree.

His legacy is worthless and people will simply say he was a big COWARD who simple is too chicken to take on the best and the one who destroyed him. The Destroyer.

As things stand. He is now too coward to face PAC again. Probably he doesnt relish tasting PAC's left and right hooks (which are completely sick by the way).
