Pirog Looked Exactly Like He Always Has

You guys were just expecting a highlight reel ko again. This is the fighter Pirog is. He moves around with his awkward very good defense, throws a lot of pitty pat shots, and looks for 1-2 hard punches a round. Marciel had pretty good defense, and Pirog couldn't find an opening, so he easily outpointed him.

Does it mean Pirog sucks ... No. I just needed to say this before everyone starts freaking out. Im going to play madden before everything blows up with haters.

Exactly.. good post. Pirog did what he was supposed to do and that's win in decisive fashion. I will say though, that Pirog wasn't attacking with the aggression that I expected.

Ya I agree. He would have stopped him if he wanted to really go at it.

Marciel isn't to bad of a fighter himself. Argentina does produce some pretty good fighters.

That's the same thing I was thinking as well.

As defense first fighters have a boring, uneventful style like that.

Ivan Calderon, Floyd Mayweather, Guerrilmo Rigondeaux, Chad Dawson, prime Bernard Hopkins etc....

Those guys you named are skilled.. but Pirog is overhyped. Pirog did what he was supposed to do against a guy who didn't want to engage/just looked to survive.

Once again, it's hard to look good when your opponent really just wants to survive. Look at Pac-Clottey. Clottey didn't want none of it just like Pirog's opponent tonight.

Get him in there with Andy Lee, Lara, Cintron, Manfredo, Duddy, or Chavez Jr and we'll see what he truely gots. He just needs a live fighter that would actually try to push him and pull off an upset rather then just survive.
