I realize why you personally included Wlad Klitschko on that poll.
But on the other hand people went WAY OVERBOARD in criticizing Haye for the trash talk. I just don't see how it was that offensive.
Sure the imagery is bad, but he was trying to get into people's heads.

I chose somebody else. So who's to blame? Well, It's not an individual
person, but an entire network. It should be clear by now who the culprit
is.... The sanctioning bodies! Why did I choose the sanctioning bodies?
Because, in my honest estimation, they are responsible for the sad
state the world of boxing find themselves in. We all know that
boxing has (as far back as we can possibly go) and continues to have
an association with corruption. So, I'm not saying they are the only
culpable party, what I am saying isthat if we had to single out one
person or entity whom is most responsible for the demise of boxing, the
majority of us will point to the sanctioning bodies. This is why fighters
rarely avoided other fighters. If you were a welterweight you had to go
through the man(current champion) to become a champion. There were
very few opportunities, so if the chance came, you'd fight the toughest
and meanest son of a gun. Why? 'Cause even in the case of the
contender being completely outclassed, at the very least, he had a
chance, but there was ZERO chance if the fighter decided not to fight.
With the amounts of belts available today (5-7 in each division, what a
mockery), fighters can now pick and choose, and often find an
alternative route of least resistance. For example, iF the WBA champ is
a tough cookie, the contender simply looks to dethrone a much weaker
IBF/WBC/WBO champ. This problem has cheapen the belts to such and
extent, that we now see champions giving up their belts in order to avoid an up and
coming stud. I cannot fathom any fighter of old, voluntarily giving up
their belts, which they fought and went through many battles to obtain,
because they did not want to get hurt or lose a fight. Heck, fighters
often fought with significant injuries in order to have an opportunity to
defend and keep their belts. To further exacerbate the problem, these
bodies have also create many needless weight classes. In 1959 there
were eight weight classes. Today, that number has grown to eighteen.
I have to admit that some of these new weight classes were necessary.
For instance, a middle weight outgrowing the division would have to join
the following division which just happened to be another league of it's
own. Yes, I am talking about the heavyweights. Middleweights had two
options: starve and make weight or fight in a division that did not have
a weight limit. So, I understand and agree with the cruiserweights or
light heavies, but divisions which only went up three to five pounds
(light flyweight and all the super's:flyweight, bantam, lightweight,
welterweight, middleweight) are not only unnecessary, but also cynical.
So there you have it, the sanctioning bodies are directly/indirectly
responsible for many good fights that did not take place due to
promoters/fighters avoiding other promoter/fighters, for the lots of
paper champion, and for the quality of boxing or lack thereof. You can
thank these bodies for Mayweather's unwillingness to fight the best
(because after all he is just playing by the rules of the game), and for
King and now Arum's in house fighting. To make matters worse, most of
these changes were not done for the sake of boxing, it was done in the
name of greed. If you ask me, the WBA/WBC/IBF/WBO are the real
******s.Comment
