Leonard beat Hagler in case you didn't know and De La Hoya gave a good fight to Floyd. Both fighters career ended in later years after their return fights in which they fought the top guys.

Agree the fight now being discussed is bs, but the sports top figure is fighting the 2 guys floyd just fought. If he's not fighting I could give a f about floyd, but man is this site filled with hypocrisy

I'm not talkking about Mosley, that was a real fight. Marquez is no tune up if he fights at 130-135, but fighting at 144 he is a tune up for the top welterweight. And I don't even need to bring up the reasoning for Spadafora. the only people who think that is a legit fight are his fan boys.

My point is it's the same ****. Both fighters are fighting fights they know they can win.

De La Hoya was off for a year and went right in to fight top guy Floyd, sure he lost but it wasn't a big loss by any means. One year off is not that much, especially if you are great at something or at least half as great as you claim to be. So why does he need a tuneup like making Marquez jump up two classes or going after nobodies like Spadafora?
Translation: I want to see Floyd lose so bad that if it were up to me, i'd make him fight Manny or Sergio without any training preparations whatsoever.

WTF you talking about? Floyd fought in May against the top welterweight and trains all year around. No preparations? That's the same bs excuse he will try to use for taking a meaningless fight.

The thing is they made a career of just jumping in the deep water without testers and it cost them. Who knows Floyd may not have it anymore and a tune could prove it not to us but to himself. Nobody knows its gone until they get beat the *** up.

And SRL wasnt exactly the greatest against Hagler. I watched it yesterday and he was laboring and might have lost. DLH did not put up a good fight. It was one sided everywhere except on the scorecards.

JMM and Pac won't even happen now I'm sure. If it does and that's at ww then that is some bs as well. Clottey marg and Shane are hardly as bs as taking tune up fights against way smaller fighters or no names. A lot of people thought Clottey beat Cotto before he fought Pac, Margarito was destroying everyone in between his close loss to P Will and his loss to shane and won his next fight after that. Mosley lost to the #2 p4p fighter and a guy in his same weight class and then had a draw against a runner Mora. I dont think either Marg or Shane should have got fights with Pac but they are definitely better opposition than fighting a guy that looks like a midget in the ring with you or a never has been, never will be anything fighter.
