Why does Mayweather always have to have a tune up fight?

If he is so great and "the greatest fighter ever" like himself and lots of his fan boys claim to be then why does he always have a tuneup fight? Sugar Ray Leonard came right back after more than one year off in the ring and went right in for top guy Marvin Hagler. De La Hoya was off for a year and went right in to fight top guy Floyd, sure he lost but it wasn't a big loss by any means. One year off is not that much, especially if you are great at something or at least half as great as you claim to be. So why does he need a tuneup like making Marquez jump up two classes or going after nobodies like Spadafora?

by "tune up" he means an annual bank account tune up. Once a year he makes sure to put a few millions in his bank account and then back to hibernation.

Shame on HBO if they buy this fight. What a disgrace to boxing

This fight should be held at a state penitentiary

As oppose to fighting 3 bull**** fights. We all know if it happens it's bull**** but let's call it even. Don't **** on 1 fighter without doing the same the other.

Name these 3 bull**** fights you speak of? What ever these are they are not in comparison to taking 2 tune ups in three fights, one of them making 1 man jump 2 weight classes higher than he fights at and the other by fighting some no name average fighter.
