Veering off away for a moment from the MAB-Pac rematch, i just read in the local boxing mag here that WBA superfeatherweight champ Yodsanan 3K Battery Nanthachai's mgt. has offered a unification challenge to Barrera. Allegedly, team Barrera has demanded not less than 2M US$ and HBO wasn't too keen on this proposed fight. GBP is looking for a more lucrative unification with the WBO champ Mike Anchondo.

I'm afraid the real 3K Battery might just end up fighting mandatories.

Saying you want a fight doesn't mean a godamn thing. Ricky Hatton has been doing this for years. Let 3-K EARN a big fight cause as of now he's done nothing to deserve a shot at any big time star.

2 million is normal for MAB.

Yet, we will have to wait and see, he has a fight with Juan Manuel Marquez he needs to win first and that is not an easy fight for him."

By the sound of it, it seems that Barrera was hesitant to stake his newly regained status against Pac unless the latter gets past Marquez.

C'mmon Marco, the guy dealt you the most humiliating loss in your boxing career, and yet you sounded like you were not interested in redeeming yourself?

Whatever happened to your pride as a warrior?
First "a bout with Manny Pacquiao is my top priority"

What does he mean by "we will have to wait and see" ?? IF and IF PAC loss his bout with JMM. will MAB give PAC a shot at his WBC belt? his statement isnt clear maybe he's really afraid

I think he meant we'll have to see first if Pac beats JMM. I do believe though he will again fight Pac, if anything...for the BIG money involved

MAB has mentioned before that the re-match with PAC is for revenge, but along the way instead of facing the PAC he fought EM, which was a very good move business wise cuz there was a lot of money involve plus that fact he won against EM...

now if his priority for 2005 is to fight the PAC and the re-match is for revenge, then no matter what the result of PAC-JMM 2, MAB should fight the PAC...

now with MAB's latest statement, i guess its all just business...
