Here's the thing...you have to define "legitimate" when asking something like this.
I take legitimate to mean "does it serve a purpose?"
Under that, well, yes, this fight is legitimate. It serves a purpose or two. It allows for Floyd's name to still be in the news. It allows for him to knock off any ring rust. It allows for yet another win, and it allows for another payday. Under that notion, I voted yes.
I, however, won't pay for this fight because I believe that Floyd will want it to be PPV when it shouldn't be. PPV should be reserved for a fight that, at the very least, will show competitiveness on someone's part. THis fight won't even be competitive for Floyd, let alone Spadafora.
I paid for the Pac/Clottey fight, but sure as heck didn't expect Clottey to go all turtleshell on us like he did. IN hindsight, a bad decision to buy that garbage.
But, if this matchup happens, I will assume it to be garbage and will not pay for it. I don't see a challenge or a threat of any kind. I don't consider myself a fool and will not be parted of my money so quickly....at least not again.
Another thing, don't you feel he may be shooting himself in the foot if the PPV numbers don't hold up? I mean, he can say that a tune up alone brought in X amount of PPVs and rationalize the low numbers that way, but what's the point. A final number is a final number.
