Kostya is Russian in terms of nationality and his culture. (Just like you are American)

In terms of immediate genealogy, he is 3/4 Russian (european) and 1/4 Chineese (asian). One of his grandfathers was Chineese whose last name Kostya bears.

Russia was considered to be in Asia, then came the break-up of the Soviet Union, now all of a sudden everyone with Russian blood calls themselves European because European is simply "trendier" than Asian, even if bloodlines trace back to an Asian culture and geographical location

governmental break-ups don't change blood-lines, is kinda my point here
