the lack of comments on this story says it all.

is there some unwritten rule with boxing organisations that says they have to maintain a quota of champions in certain parts of the world in order to keep interest in the sport going..?? why else would a sanctioning body tolerate champions hiding in their own back yards fighting bums?

Classic. Avendano is ranked 14th by the WBA and 131st by boxrec. It will be Senchenko's first defense in a year. His last one was against an equally bogus challenger, who is ranked 15th by the WBA. Apparently the WBA is never going to make Senchenko defend against the interim M'Baye or anyone ranked in the top 10, for that matter.
Nice gig if you can get it
