i think ****m richardson could do magic with paul williams.
    i rate him very highly.
but, in terms of sergio martinez "rocking" his or any other world i think he has to do alot more to prove that fight was anymore than being "the better man on the night".
a good ko yes certainly but, he has to fight other premium middleweights.
maybe canelo, ryan rhodes, another bout with plasterito or cotto, chavez jnr to name the obvious.
paul belongs at welter/147 hes big there and now there has been a ko against him people will be less afraid of facing him.
    unlike before.

Come on fam. Give credit where it is do......

The 2010 fighter of the year got off to a great start in an effort to repeat in 2011, destroying junior middleweight titlist Sergiy Dzinziruk for an eighth-round knockout to retain the world title March 12. Martinez scored five knockdowns in the dominant performance against a quality opponent who was expected to give him some trouble. Dzinziruk didn't. Martinez is as good as it gets in boxing right now.

The sport of boxing is recognizing and so should we. Martinez already dethrowned the top guy at Middle weight. I don't know who he will fight next but I hope it is someone that can boost his staus further and not fighting a guy like Peter Manfredo Jr. That won't help his cause. Maybe a fight with Felix Sturm. Looking at the top guys at 54 and 160. I would pick Martinez as the favourite going into any of the fights. But hey... that's just my opinion.

I think Emmanuel Steward would be best for Paul Williams because he works better with tall fighters and gets them to utilize their jabs and fight tall.

          This.........

I mean the guy actually has the hart to want a third fight when Pac and Floyd wouldnt fight Martinez once.

            GTFOH with that b.s.

1st of all....dude has no heart because Martinez took it along with his soul

2nd....it's the only fight people might take serious. Dude is done and is only taking the fight because that's the only way he might get back on HBO. You tell me which one would you choose.....fighting on Telumundo against some bum in mexico....or taking a third fight with Martinez, getting demolished but at least being able to get a nice payday.

I wouldn't go as far as to Williams don't have no heart but I do agree with you that Martinez took alot out of Williams with that KO. Paul's been real silent and as prideful as he is. I'm sure he can't sleep over it either. hopefully when he gets back in the ring, he has fully shaken it off.

Williams has tons of heart just not any defense. Williams and his trainer said it was a lucky punch which is ridiculous but shows that he still has most of his confidence. Williams will be back and will still be a nightmare for most from 154-160.

One thing about Williams is, I think the writing was on the wall that he was below the elite level when he struggled with the Frog. Beat a light punching inactive Winky Wright, an old Verno Phillips, and splitting fights with Carlos Quintana of all guys. Before the Cintron fight, I kind of had a high opinion on Williams. But not anymore. I think he's a really overrated fighter.

Can't forget that he beat Antonio Margarito when Margarito was on a win streak that lasted like 10 years. The Quintana win was a good one because he avenged it with brutality. Reminds me of what Martinez did to him in their rematch. The real reason why Williams fought the opponents you mentioned was because he could not get a fight from any of the top guys.
