By Robert Morales - If the Mayweather family or Golden Boy Promotions thought the defamation civil lawsuit filed against them by Manny Pacquiao was somehow going to go away, they experienced a sobering reminder Monday it is not when a judge in a Nevada federal court refused to dismiss the suit.

Daniel Petrocelli is best known for winning a wrongful death civil lawsuit against O.J. Simpson on behalf of Fred Goldman, the father of Ronald Goldman, who along with Nicole Brown was murdered June 12, 1994. Simpson was found not guilty during his criminal trial, but Petrocelli helped the Goldman family get $8.5 million by getting a guilty verdict in the civil suit.

Petrocelli may have twice lost battles with the California State Athletic Commission when he represented Antonio Margarito, but the cards were more than stacked against him. The UCLA graduate is a seriously good lawyer, and a conversation he had with BoxingScene.com on Tuesday indicated just how serious his client is about making sure no one ever again accuses him of using performance enhancing drugs.

"This suit was filed because these defendants made false accusations in suggesting Manny Pacquiao took, and is taking, performance enhancing drugs," Petrocelli said. "And nothing could be further from the truth. They have no evidence to back that up. They tried to get out of the case by saying their statements were merely opinion. he was really flying high a while ago along with naseem hamed during his reign as f/w champ.
rhodes went into a fight at 12/0 with the then formidable otis grant who up until that point only lost to quincy taylor and there after roy jones junior and his last fight so, i wouldnt call him a nobody.
he has been like a number of boxers whom have lost thier way a little with some really unexpected losses but, its not unusual.
he rallied back on the domestic scene and has earned it so, good luck to him.

Not long ago it was the Mayweathers cranking it up on Pacman, insulting, slandering hard and loud to the public, Mocking, doing everything they could to discombobulate Pacman and his legacy.

U can't be serious. This isn't some ****** ass street corner and we're not talking about some dudes reputation around his neighborhood. These are multi million dollar super star athletes. They are recognized world wide and they do millions upon millions of dollars worth of indorcements every year. Their reputations have been carefully crafted though out their careers for the simple fact of some day being in the position they are in. Floyd has no one to blame but himself. Any half wit knows u can't just slander someone and then claim its ur opinion. Floyd loves to talk about boxing as a business and its all about money. Well in the world of business and multi million dollar brands, slander matters. Hey Flint, these fools (the Mayweather's mostly) stated it as a FACT, especially Roger, with no proof whatsoever. They made up a story and idiots like you ran with it. Now you have idiots claiming power pellets, etc all over these message boards, who are fans of the sport. They had to file the lawsuit and when they win, people will not be allowed to accuse anyone without any proof.
