because there is no way they fight in 160 lbs. so the middleweight champion is irrelevant. if they fight below 154 lbs Pac wouldnt get enough credit. so if the fight even happen one of them would have a disadvantage because Pac is not as big as Sergio, not even close.

I think it did. Pac went up to JMW to test if he can handle the weight and the punches from biggers guys (Marg) and of course for the 8th title.

After that Rd 6 body punch from marg. Pac probably thought he cant take and will be hurt if he continues to stay there which is why he went down to fight a no credibility present mosley.

I mean just for the hell of it. Just to show that Pacman didn't back down from nobody. Even if he loses I think all that fight would do would help his legacy. I understood back before Paul Will-Sergio 2 that Paul Williams-Pacman should never happen because Williams is too damn tall, but since Sergio won, I think Pac should fight him since he's smaller.

If Pac beats Marquez for the 3rd time, if Amir Khan beats Bradley, and if Cotto beats Margarito, and Pac beats him again, ITS THE ONLY FIGHT LEFT! So he might as well say **** it and go for it all. If he could beat Sergio, HE HAS TO BE TOP 10 ATG fighter. And if he loses at least he tried. It would only help his legacy if you ask me just like a Floyd fight which will never happen, so Sergio is the next best thing!!!

i can't understand why people keep mentioning margarito when discussing a pac-martinez matchup. pac fought marg at 150 catchweight...can martinez get that low? no, so it's not comparable.

while it's true that margarito is almost or as big as martinez, he gave away the advantages in boxing skills, speed and overall ring generalship to pac. in other words, pac was able to balance out the size advantage of margarito.

that is not the case with martinez. i can say that pac is ahead of martinez in overall aspect of boxing, but the difference is not that much that pac can capitalize on. the one thing that really stands out is martinez's size advantage. it's not about style because if they are of the same weight pac can handle him and would be favored to win. in other words, martinez's style only matters because of his size advantage.

regardless, i still wanna see this fight but i wouldn't be surprised if pac chooses not to. he has to think of his safety and fighting the best middleweight right now for a guy his size is not a safe bet to do.
