The WBC President, Jose Sulaiman, is asking junior middleweight champion, Saul "Canleo" Alvarez (36-0, 26KOs), and his promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, to respect his organization's ruling on making British boxer Ryan Rhodes (45-4, 31KOs) the mandatory challenger. Sulaiman says the WBC's decision is final. The WBC is giving Golden Boy 30-days to reach a deal for the fight with Rhodes, or a purse bid will be ordered. The fight is tentative for June 18 at World Trade Center, Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico.

What does GBP do now? The WBC is demanding Canelo to fight a legit top five guy as his first defense! We will now find out how much faith GBP has in Canelo. If they find a way to weasel out of the fight, we will know the truth. This is a good fight so I hope it happens. I also hope somebody (HBO or Showtime) shows it and we don't have to pay for it...

Sulaiman came across as a ***** like he was talking to one of his higher-ups lol, this ain't about "respect the opinion of this agency", it's about Canelo being a champion and defending the belt against worthy competition. You name the opponent and Canelo has to face them, simple as that. But then he made it sound like he was doing Canelo some sort of favor lol
