    Kessler calls out Lacy

    Kessler calls out Lacy!

    Thursday, September 15 2005

In an open letter, WBA super middleweight champ Mikkel Kessler has challenged Jeff Lacy. "My people have made it clear to Big Gary Shaw and to Showtime that I am ready, willing and available for this super showdown assuming that proper conditions and terms can be agreed to by the parties," wrote Kessler. "No one has ever accused you of ducking or dodging opponents. The same can be said for me. Let the duckers and the dodgers sit on the sidelines where they belong. There can be only true ruler of the super middleweight division. Is the real king of the 168-pounders you or is it me? I am ready to find out." Click here for Kessler's complete letter.

Kessler is a tough customer. Lacy needs another solid victory over Calzone before I would say he belongs in that fight.

      hmm

Kessler may just have to wait his turn, but, it would be a good fight. I am in favor of Lacy fighting Calzaghe first though. Still, if Lacy wants a real stiff test, perhaps as tough as Joe would be, then he could fight Kessler in his November fight.

I can't wait until the day that "calling someone out" = "I'll ACTUALLY sign the contract"

everybody "calls" guys out, until the pen is in hand, & the truth comes to fruition

let's see Kessler sign on the dotted line....if he does, MAD props for taking on Lacy

well KESSLER has been mentioned many times, and LACY himself has said that he isn't ready for KESSLER..........

this is a big fight and i pick a victory for KESSLER..........

however, KESSLER could be on the end of a bad decision if he fights in the states.......LACY is so entertaining that the judges / promoters might not want to see him lose.........

              KESSLER late round KO.

I personally don't see Mikkel Kessler beating Lacy. I think Lacy will overpower him & knock him out.

Don't you think that's a little the same with Lacy and Calzaghe?

Lacy's talking the talk, but because of a "convienient for Lacy camp" Calzaghe broken hand, instead of fighting Calzaghe in Feb 06' as opposed to Nov 05' he'll not fight him at all and take the easy challenge in Kessler?

                  It works two ways...

I really like Lacy because he's one of the 1st Americans that's actually willing to take on the BULL of the division... But I'll be disappointed if he tucks his tail and fights Kesseler saying, "I did challenge Calzaghe but he ducked me! If he was a real man, he'd have signed the contract and fought me with a broken hand!"

i like the fight and i like the way it was presented to lacy. totally classy and to the point. no disrespecting, just straight facts, and that is how it should be.
i think that kessler would out box lacy, as long as he didn't try and trade with him. if he used his jab and moved. he'd knot up lacy all night.
to lacy's credit, he's strong, has good skills, and always in shape, but has never fought a good boxer. he hasn't fought anyone really all that good. reid was a start. just like mundine was a start for kessler, because the same could be said about him. that's why they need to fight one another, to see who's real, they both have belts. i say put that **** up on the line!
