If he can stay by himself jus like floyd he should aim for that, dat way we can see him fight soto or rios from top rank n he can still do fights with GBP or any promoter, hopefully marquez sees this way, obviously he needs to forget pacman but he aint he might get a catchweight at 143

that's what they're dangling in front of marquez face to keep him from signing with top rank and fighting manny pacquiao?

roberto guerrero or a michael katsidis rematch?

i find it hard to believe that they cant get him anything better than that.
robert guerrero is a good fighter but he's not a big draw

marquez is going to be fighting with top rank in the near future it appears
      getting paid

floyd mayweather doesnt promote himself any more than what you see on the television. he's a very bright guy, so i'm sure he's aware of what's going on and he's got his hand in it

but a fighter of his caliber who works like he does during training doesnt have enough time to give to promoting his fights fully.
maybe dimitry salita can get away with being a businessman then boxer
but floyd's certainly putting in a full time job's worth of hours every day he's training.

he works with goldenboy (richard shaefer, simply because oscar and floyd dont work well together,) leonard elerby, and al haymon

        they are his team
his managers, advisors, and goldenboy is the promoter.

why else would the lack of a fight (outside of drug testing)
be about a goldenboy and top rank feud?

And the more reason why JMM can do the same, He can fight under any promotional banner without signing a contract with them, Obviously he isnt going to make Mayweather sort of money of PPV but it would still benefit him to go it alone in the longer run, He's 36/7 and would probably retire in the next 2-3 years or so.

mayweather signs contracts for one fight

that the only thing he does differently from most fighters.

if you're marquez you probably want a more secure contract, or a longer term deal anyhow (unless you really think you're going to beat manny pacquiao and make a long run as the p4p king, which floyd mayeather does)

if he starts to lose it, you've still got a contract that's got money based on your skills when you created it.

like an aging athlete in one of the major sports in the states going for mid range deal to finish a career

            two, three fights
with top rank. first one against pacquiao at 147, where he's got almost no nope (another topic for another day)
that's how i see things going down

            he's already got "marquez promotions,"
but i dont see them taking their show on the road.

Marquez starting his own Promotion company? Are you guys serious? What is he gonna call it, "Golden Showers Promotions"?

He can't speak a lick of english and hes never been on a A-side of a PPV that sold more than 250k. Why would anyone in their right mind sign with him when they can sign with Top Rank who constantly sells the most PPV's every year.

You are a clown. Marquez do speak English but he prefers to speak in Spanish. He probably doesn't like the sound of his English accent. Did you know Barrera speaks a little bit of English and also most of the latino boxers? Have you noticed that Sergio Martinez is starting to speak English because he is slowly learning and understanding it. You are underestimating people's abilities.

Seriously, your point just pissed me off.

GBP should offer him Judah in Vegas or Los Angeles. Win or lose he should get a shot at winner of Miadana/Morales, and hopefully Morales wins that fight because then he will be relevant again making a Marquez/Morales fight in Mexico more meaningful. Then he could fight Pacquiao in 2012 at the age of 40 (you know how Bob Arum likes them ripe and way outta their prime)

see posts like this are part of the problem with boxing....what do you mean he should get the winner or maidana vs morales? morales is getting a payday he is a completely battered veteran who has no chance...dont entertain the hype this isnt a comeback this is pitiful...dont order it, only way theyre gonna learn...im only ordering it for the malignaggi fight
