  • Comments Thread For: Alexander's Trainer on Matthysse Fight, Bradley, More

Southpaw Devon Alexander just turned 24 years old on Feb. 10, his birthday coming less than two weeks after being dethroned as WBC junior welterweight champion by WBO counter part, Tim Bradley, in a Jan. 29, 10th-round, unanimous, technical decision that was the first loss of his career.

This interview is contradiction city,Matt's is not more dangerous then Bradley(as far as getting an L Bradley is much more dangerous)Bradley would outbox Matt's as well..I really wonder why Devon does not talk for himself??It's hard to believe this kid has learn anything,I mean at the post fight interview with Merchant he mad like three excuses and then said no excuses no excuses..What??Cunningham talks for Devon because Devon does not believe anything he say's himself and needs Kevin to sell him..If Devon loses to Matt's he will vanish from the lime lights and be on espn where is where he might belong after his display of lack of heart and ring I.Q.

I don't think Devon can convey thoughts to words very well. Ive always kind of got that impression from his interviews. . .

I can't remember a reasonable comment from this guy. Have to say I enjoyed this interview. He's wrong about Alexander though, he is not better than Bradley and I thought their fight showed that more than anything.

The thing that worries me the most about Devon is that you can't grow if you don't acknowledge your weaknesses.

Devon didn't lose from Bradley because he didn't execute the gameplan. Devon lost from Bradley because Devon is not only the less skilled and experienced fighter of the two, more importantly, Devon couldn't adjust to Bradley's pressure.

If his trainer, Cunningham, keeps on ignoring Devon's weaknesses and keeps on telling him how good he is, Devon will never grow and improve as a boxer.

Bradley is #1 140lb, whats happenin to devon is dat his being misshandle by cunningham, devon wasnt ready for timmy, he couldnt even beat one dimensional koltenik n then dey try to beat timmy, timmy can do it almost all he got a good jab, foot speed, slick they werent ready for a boxer/brawler like tim, n now they are making the one of the worst desicions they can make in fightin matthyse, he can box a lil but he gots a heavy hands i see my boi devon gettin ko this time, devon can win if he chooses to counterpunch n punch with some more authority, he seems to want beat guys by over punchin dem

It's Mattysse's time to shine right now. He's not the opponent for Alexander at this time.Alexander's arm punches are gonna get him hurt with a skilled power puncher.

Alexander has loads of a talent and skill, talent wise he is up there with timmy, timmy has him on overall.skills and the main thing was his pressure and adaptation in the ring. Devon didnt execute the game plan, which was part of the reason he was behind aside from not figuring out Bradley adapting. But like I said on our way out of the stadium the only correct score card was 96-95 Bradley, Devon was right there, his trainer just can't get him over the top on an elite level he needs Robert Garcia. But Lucas will not beat him nor knock him out, there is a complete level of difference between Devon and Lucas.

TBH the fight was not that close bro,Bradley dominated Devon and made him look totally out of his league..I gave Devon two rds and had a hard time even giving him that,he never looked comfortable he was clinching a lot and every punch that landed that meant anything came from Bradley..Devon has to relize his flaws and deal with umm or he will never get better..I think he has the talent to beat Matts(don't know bout the skill)but he will have to work on a lot to do it..Matts took away Judah's best weapon his uppercut, this is also Devon's best punch an imo Judah is far better then Devon..
