He didn't break his hand. When he got hit with Cotto's shot it didn't even look like his left hit Cotto.

Since there's not been any kind of statement from Mayorga's camp to verify and seein' how most folks think he was fakin' and they'd wanna' deny if they could...I'm goin' with he faked it.

His brain got rattled so hard that it sent signals to his hand that the thumb was broken.

I think the replays showed that he might have pushed back his thumb a bit, but he saw the incoming onslaught and that at that point, Cotto was too strong and elected not to get ****ed up.

I think the post fight commentary tells you everything you need to know. He said that "that Puerto Rican is strong" and he's never openly said that about another fighter.

Well, it was either the "chicken walk" or the "dying ****roach". He chose to blame it on his thumb with whatever marbles he had rolling in his head at the moment of impact.

And Vargas. It was something like: "Voy a volver a welter, porque este maricón (Vargas) pega muy duro."

"Im heading back to welter cause this guy (Vargas) hits too damn hard."

I wanted to believe that it was his thumb because he looked like he was in pain, but there's been no reports. Nada. He faked it.

dunno about the broken hand, but I feel if he were to back out of the fight he would have done it earlier than round 12....no?

I don't think Mayorga hurt his hand. If you look at the replay, you can clearly see his left hand didn't land. Also, he got staggered by Cotto's jab. That goes to show that he was hurt.
