Comments Thread For: Juanma Learned a Valuable Lesson By Watching Cotto

WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez says that he learned a valuable lesson by watching Miguel Cotto's recent knockout win over Ricardo Mayorga. He plans to apply his new education in the fight with Orlando Salido on April 16 in Bayamón. In the past, Lopez has made mistakes by chasing a knockout from the start of the first round. He saw how Cotto stayed calm, boxed from round to round and took the knockout in the twelfth.

He should hire Emmanuel Steward if he really wants to learn how to box right, just like Cotto.

I've been saying for a while Juanma can't box too good... Apparently he heard me, let's see what he can do, maybe I'll jump on the bandwagon.

Juanma just doesn't have the skills to do what Cotto does. He's better served by keeping the pressure on his opponents, using his power and not getting ****** when he hurts them.

Any word on Salido's weight? He was 10 lbs overweight for his last fight vs Gamboa.
