David Lemiuex or James Kirkland

Two fighters who are Physically gifted with power and make for exciting fights. Both recieve tons of hype because they are decent prospects but are crowd pleasing fighters. Odds are one of them will make it big and rule his decision, and the either will be the next Jeff Lacey or Jermain Taylor. That being said, which one of these guys is the next Jeff Lacey?

if i had to choose (especially right now) it would have to be Lemiuex ... short powerful punches, better balance and defense. kirkland still needs to sharpen up and i do believe he will improve as he gets the rust off. but even before he went away he had balance and defense issues that were very worrisome

trouble with Lemiuex right now is we really dont know how good or not he really is ... since his comp hasnt been great. i do believe his powers the real thing though, concerns i have about him is size. his hieght and reach is not great for middle weight. but technique and timing will help overcome those disparities

Yeah I agree with all of that, right now if they fought I would pick Lemieux to steamroll Kirkland in a round or two with how he keeps his hands low and just walks into so many punches that are easily avoidable.

Not overly impressed with either.

Lemiuex hasnt really put a foot wrong but then again he hasnt really fought anyone.

Kirkland has fought better comp but he gets shook in every fight.

I could see both getting outboxed or stopped by superior fighters.

Oh no doubt it'd be a barn burner. Ive been wanting to see Kirkland vs Angulo for a while now.

Kirkland would get knocked out in the first round. Not because he's that much worse, but because Lemiuex has that kind of power, and Kirkland could easily be hit. I would love to see that fight by the end of this year.

James looked like he had one-punch power in the beginning as well.

If he can destroy Rubio quickly I'll have no problem favoring him against James.

David Lemieux is my favorite boxer, and I'm not the top of guy to have a favorite boxer honestly, so I may be a bit biased.

I still think Lemieux does everything but put combos together better then Kirkland.

I agree, when Lemieux starts facing harder opponents it will be interesting to see if his power still shines.

I think Kirkland has to sharpen his tools a little bit right now but the Kirkland before he went to jail was a better fighter than Lemiuex IMO.
