maskaev is one of the worst contenders in the HW division today. the guy has lost to kirk johnson, oliver mccall, david tua, corey sanders, and lance whitaker. his only noteworthy win was a KO victory over fellow loser hasim rahman. i dont care how much skill or power maskaev has. hes in his mid-late 30s, hes got one of the worst chins in boxing today, and he loses to B and C grade fighters. maskaev had his chances and he was KOd in all of them.

      sam by mid-round KO.

Third round KO for Sam. Maskaev has a scrub like chin.

that's all in the past; under the new management, Maskaev is a good opponent to about anyone

Lets be realistic man, this guy is no contender. I seen this guy at Brighton Beach here in Brooklyn with his daughter. He made a ton on real estate in Staten Island. Well enough to support himself. So he's doing fine with or without boxing. I guess its more trying to redefine his name and legacy. I hope he beats Samil, but I don't think its going to happen. Samil by UD.

You are right! All he is, is an opponent, a stepping stone!
