Next thing you know..tap..KO. WTF. Then two weeks later? They musta had a lot of meetings and negotiations before that fight. I mean, they had to. Yet...they were fighting each other.

BTW, this isn't the only fight where there were strong rumors of a fix. Again, Campas-Oscar was a slap in the face. And Oscar's so-called ******** issues and high visibility in Vegas always made it anyone's guess as to what the bigwigs were gonna decide would happen when he fought.
I agree Oscar's been involved in some shady stuff in the past. I'm conflicted on whether or not Bernard would take place in something like that. On one hand, he always spoke out on the corruption and BS in the sport, on the other I could totally see his mentality of being something like "well I put in so much work, I fought from the gutter to rise to the top, boxing owes me this."

Either way I don't view bhop any different, not like he wouldn't have ****d oscar anyway. Also bhop probably thought Golden Boy really was going to be a promotional company "for the fighters" at the time, so maybe he was disillusioned with what Golden Boy was really about.

I believe he could have continued but he didn't want to. meaning he quit. I mean look how maidana ****** it up or Pacquiao refusing to go down against Margarito. De la hoya was pounding the ground instead of forcing himself to stand up.

I think he went down on the punch, but could have gotten up. As for ****m yelling "BODY SHOT" he always yells. He did that in the trinidad fight too.

          Lets be honest about this.

Boxing is corrupt, the money makers are protected. Whether its Arum, Don King, lou di bella the easy fights are taken more often than not and the money makers are protected.

But where talking about Golden Boy here so lets talk about Golden Boy.

Ricky Hatton. His first fight with Golden Boy? Lazcano. We all know what happenend in that fight, right? I have never seen a referee do that in my life. But Ricky is good for boxing and was protected. lazcano would have been buried if he won, and he knew it. he was buried anyway.
Floyd Mayweather was the A-side vs Hatton and look how he was protected by the referee.
Steve Forbes. Steve Forbes made Oscar look like ****. Look what happened to his carear - has he fought since? i have no idea. he was buried.
Amir khan vs Maidana - come on now.

          countless other examples.
Its nothing blatant, but its more like 'dont beat me and lets make money toghether' the people we are talking about include the referee, the judges etc. its a hush hush wink wink society.
Look at the scoring of MAB and JMM fight. An absolute disgrace, the guy with the upside protected. Arum has been doing this with his fighters for years - look at Morales-Barerra 1 - but i thought Oscar was meant to clean up the sport? Guys worse than Don King and Arum combined.

You shouldn't view him any different, that's the way the game goes. No one would've believed it if Oscar won so Hops took it easy and they ended the fight amicably .

And your first paragraph is dead on. I mean, Hopkins spent eight years in jail. And you see the way he fights in the ring? He'll definitely do what it takes.

He sure does but there was a marked difference between those two fights. ****m was more reactionary against Tito. As in, after the shot landed he would yell something like "Oh!" or "Oooh!" LOL. I loved that line in the latter rounds when Hops was sitting on his stool and ****m says, "You got it champ! It's all in the computer!"

I have to agree I'm one of the biggest Oscar fans out there; when it happened and they said th fight was over I thought B-Hop had got dq'd for a low blow still to this day I dont believe B-Hop hit Oscar hard enough for what happened after that.

LOL Of course he didn't. Fighters taking a dive do not try to take their opponents heads off and then take a dive. If they are going to take a dive they make it look like they are trying without landing anything that might win them the fight. Oscar landed some hard punches and if he weren't fighting a middleweight with a really good chin he could have won. But I guess some you have never seen a bigger fighter score a fight ending body shot on a smaller fighter.
