See my previous post. Boente did say that Sky pay more than RTL, which is hardly surprising, given that Sky is PPV and RTL is free to air terrestrial; but he did not say, as Blobby implied he did, that Sky pays anywhere near the combined total of all the worldwide TV revenues not counting Sky.

Not to mention that K2's insistence on sticking with free to air TV means that more than 20 million German fans will watch the fight, whereas only around 2 million British fans will be able to see it. Any genuine boxing fan would applaud the Klitschkos for sticking with terrestrial TV and keeping boxing a mainstream sport in Germany.

Also, well over half of the worldwide TV revenues outside of Germany and the UK will be generated by Wlad rather than by Haye - Haye has a very small following outside of the UK.

What Boente actually said was that the Sky PPV money is more than the RTL money That's just stating the obvious, given that RTL is a free to air terrestrial channel and Sky is PPV. He did not say that it was more than the combined worldwide TV money not counting Sky, as you imply he did; and in fact it is nowhere near as much as the combined worldwide TV rights money not counting Sky.

The context in which Boente said that was simply that Haye was saying at that time that he wasn't willing to split the purse down the middle (despite having said in the same statement that all he wanted was 50/50 -so Haye was blatantly contradicting himself). Haye said he wanted all of the Sky money, Wlad could have all the RTL money, and the rest of the purse (worldwide TV rights, sponsorship and gate) could be split down the middle. Boente said no, because obviously Sky PPV pays more than RTL free to air.

But Sky PPV pays far less than the rest of the worldwide TV money combined, and far, far less than the rest of the purse combined, including sponsorship and gate money.

In the Vitali-Solis fight, Vitali reportedly made 15 million Euros. Only 5 million of that came from RTL, which means that for the Solis fight, Vitali alone made 10 million Euros from the worldwide TV payments outside of Germany, plus sponsorship and gate money. And the Haye fight will command far higher worldwide TV fees than the Solis fight did. For the Solis fight, the US TV rights reportedly only cost $150k. For the Haye fight, HBO plan to show it and will have to pay millions of dollars to do so. And that's just the US. It will be shown in more than 100 countries,
Only a little correction: Vitali was reported to have made 15 million dollars, that is quite a bit less than 15 million euros.

What is with all the "Wladimir is scared! Wladimir won't fight in England!" nonsense from Haye fans who apparently learned everything they need to know about boxing from the Daily Mail?

Both Klitschkos spent much of their careers in the USA until United Statesians lost interest in heavyweight boxing.

Wladimir signed to fight Haye in England, you may remember, but Haye pulled out with a phony injury. How you conclude from this that Wladimir is scared of Haye and won't fight in England is anyone's guess.

And please don't try to tell us that anything Haye has done over the last two years has changed the situation (apart from money). Haye has fought non-contenders who pose no threat to any top fighter, and has not looked particularly impressive in doing so. He has given no indication that he is someone of whom either Klitschko would be frightened.
