It’s pretty hard not to be a fan of Miguel Angel Cotto. Covering boxing since 1992, I haven’t run into another champion boxer who is more gracious, polite and humble than Miguel Cotto. He’s an all around good guy, always pleasant and thoughtful with the media, not to mention, a very exciting athlete who never fails to deliver a thrilling performance. Cotto is such a likeable sort, even one recent opponent’s wife was struck by his natural qualities of kindness.
“I was rooting for Cotto (vs. Margarito). Not because I don’t like Margarito, but because during the whole promotion with Shane/Cotto he was just a really great, humble, respectful person,” said Jin Mosley, who recently split with Sugar Shane. “I am usually biased when it comes to rooting for someone. I don’t go for skill, I go for who I know and who has moved me in some way, shape or form.”
Jim Mosley remembers two specific instances where the chivalry of Cotto won her over. “While at a New York. press conference for Shane, Bob Arum brought Shane a birthday cake which had him (Shane) lying down in the ring. As photographers took the faceoff pictures in front of the cake, Miguel whispered to Shane that he didn’t have anything to do with it, an d said he should stand his figure up. How cute is that?”
After Cotto defeated Mosley by a hard-fought decision in Madison Square Garden two years ago, Jin Mosley witnessed another example of Cotto’s class. “Then, after he defeated Shane, he came into the locker room and shook every single person’s hand. Muttered something and just seemed so apologetic. Right there, he gained my vote for all his future fights.”
Cotto makes his return to the ring on February 21 against Michael Jennings, which will be contested for the vacant WBO Welterweight title.

. Cotto loves the women he even admits to doing his wife wrong. She wants it real baaaddd.
